Wairau Valley, Marlborough New Zealand

New Zealand is at the forefront of the New World Wines movement. The quality, taste and love that goes into making these wines is second to none. When it comes to flavor, there is no more important ingredient in the production of wine than where your grapes are grown. grapes are grown and harvested at select vineyards within Marlborough’s breathtaking Wairau, Seventeen, Waihopai and Nelson’s valleys. The Microclimates and soil types of these Vineyards all contribute towards the intense vibrancy of flavor that has become synonymous with Marlborough and Nelson wines, the world over.

Our Sustainability Program

Sustainable Wine growing New Zealand was established in 1995 as an industry initiative directed through New Zealand Winegrowers and was commercially introduced in 1997 and adopted by growers from all the grape growing regions.

The introduction of winery standards in 2002 has been a significant development, which further substantiates the industry commitment to sustainable production.

Sustainable Wine growing New Zealand was developed in order to:

  • Provide a 'best practice' model of environmental practices in the vineyard and winery.

  • Guarantee better quality assurance from the vineyard through to the bottle.

  • Address consumer concerns regarding products which are made taking care to respect the environment.
